Warranty

The manufacturer of the fan motor I use gives me a 1 year warranty. I also have to show the manufacturer that the motor was not abused. I personally feel one year is not enough. So for any fan I install, I warranty the motor and everything else for two full years, as long as the fan and controls were not abused. This includes the controls, wiring, and the entire fan.

I define abuse as water shorting out the electrical timer, or not cleaning the fan at least 2 times per year. Since I will not be there when you clean the fan, if a motor stops working and there is obvious crud all over the fan blades, I think we can both agree right now that the unit wasn't kept clean and the warranty is void.

But there are those who, for personal and other reasons, don't want the responsibility of having to clean the fan 2 times a year. For these people I offer a win-win option.

If you will take a maintenance contract out with me, I will clean the unit 2 times a year at a cost of $35 per cleaning = $70 prepaid for the year. Plus, if you add an additional $25 prepaid a year starting with the third year (total $95/year), I will extend the warranty one year at a time as long as you continue the maintenance contract.

Basically, for $95 a year, I take on all the responsibility of cleaning the fan and extend the warranty for the current year. I want to provide you with the best installation, with everything done as promised. But at the same time I also want my customers who are unable to maintain the fan to have a way of making sure the fan I installed lasts and performs without any problems.
